HOW TO START A PROJECT
INITIATION OF A PROJECT
The initiation of a project by the Fire Marshal and Building Inspector’s Office is accomplished through the submission of the description of the proposed work and the completed Application for Construction Document Review and Building Permit. This form may be used for either the submission of preliminary drawings for review for code compliance, or the submission of complete construction documents for review for code compliance and application for building permit.
The applicant named on the Application for Construction Document Review and Building Permit will be the Fire Marshal and Building Inspector’s Office primary project contact through the duration of the work and will receive all pertinent correspondence.
With the initiation of a project, the building inspector will assign a lead inspector to that project. The lead inspector may be a fire marshal or a building official, depending on the nature or scope of the work. The lead inspector will remain responsible for the administration of the project for code compliance and will be the primary Fire Marshal and Building Inspector’s Office contact for that project.
